Musician of the Month - August

It's the start of the year, which means that we're starting back up with the Musician of the Month! If you've ever seen a movie, you are likely to have heard this person's music.

Hans Zimmer (1957 – present)

Zimmer was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Hans Florian Zimmer is a German composer and music producer.

He has composed music for over 150 films.

His works include The Lion King, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, and Interstellar.

Zimmer's works are notable for integrating electronic music sounds with traditional orchestral arrangements.

He was also named on the list of Top 100 Living Geniuses, published by The Daily Telegraph.

Here are a couple videos of his music.

The video above is a "Top 5" compilation of his music.
0:00 One Day - Pirates Of The Caribbean - At World's End
01:48 Time - Inception
03:19 Like A Dog Chasing Cars - The Dark Knight
05:01 Zoosters Breakout - Madagascar
06:32 Chevaliers De Sangreal - The Da Vinci Code

This one comes from Inception. One of my favorite parts about this piece is the slow, but powerful building crescendo. Take a few minutes and just enjoy the beauty.

Comment using your best music vocabulary about what you think of his music.
