Musician of the Month - Claude Debussy

Our new musician of the month for March is:

Claude Debussy
1862 - 1918

  • He was a French composer and pianist.
  • His music is very imaginative and often describes pictures or stories like 'The Sunken Cathedral' or 'Gardens in the Rain'.
  • He was a very important composer, different to most people writing music at his time. Lots of other composers were influenced by his style.
  • One of his music famous pieces is 'Clair de Lune' (which means 'Moonlight'). This has been used in  lots of films and is consistently ranked in the top 100 classical pieces of all time.
