Musician of the Month - Beethoven

This month's musician is one of the most famous classical composers ever.

Ludwig Van Beethoven
(1770-1827)

  • He was born in Bonn, Germany and was recognised as a very talented pianist when he was just 6 years old.
  • He has written some of the most famous pieces of classical music, including Symphony number 5 and the piano piece 'Fur Elise'.
  • He became deaf in his later life due to suffering from tinnitus - a ringing in the ear. Despite going deaf, he continued to write music.
  • He had a huge impact on the world of music, writing longer and more ambitious music than anybody had before him.
