Assembly Songs for this week

In the next two weeks we have our whole school/half school assemblies. We'll sing two songs, both we've done before, but I thought I'd post them here to remind you!

Click on 'read more' for the lyrics to both songs, happy singing!:

Spread a Little Happiness

It's a Beautiful World
The special taste of a favourite food,
Joyful music to lift the mood,
A new born baby's first big smile,
Finish line when you've run a mile.
Lilting waves that lap the shore,
The best goal you'll ever score,
Climbing to the top of a tree,
My best friends, playing with me.
If you're feeling down,
Just take a look around,
Soon you will see,
What's plain to you and me,
It's a beautiful world.
Nice cool breeze through your hair,
The sound of laughter in the air,
Sunsets filling up the sky,
Finding out the reason why.
Summer days that never end,
A conversation with a friend,
Dancing to my favourite song,
Being somewhere you belong.
If you're feeling down,
Just take a look around,
Soon you will see,
What's plain to you and me,
It's a beautiful world.
Memories of days gone by,
Crisp, light blue, cloudless sky,
Swimming pool on a red hot day,
The funny things that toddlers say.
Curling up in your bed,
Somewhere soft to rest your head,
Soaring mountains topped with snow,
When new people say "hello"
If you're feeling down,
Just take a look around,
Soon you will see,
What's plain to you and me,
It's a beautiful world.
If you're feeling down,
Just take a look around,
Soon you will see,
What's plain to you and me,
It's a beautiful world.

Spread a little Happiness

Even when the darkest clouds are in the sky
You mustn't sigh and you mustn't cry
Spread a little happiness as you go by
Please try

What's the use of worrying and feeling blue
When days are long keep on smiling through
Spread a little happiness till dreams come true

Surely you'll be wise to make the best of every blues day
Don't you realize you'll find next Monday or next Tuesday
Your golden shoes day!

Even when the darkest clouds are in the sky
You mustn't sigh and you mustn't cry
Spread a little happiness as you go by

    1. Hi Bryan. I get the assembly songs from a few different places, some are ones I've written (like 'It's a Beautiful World') other ones are not (like 'Spread a Little Happiness').
